Michael Jordan Dyck

I was born and raised in Steinbach, Manitoba. When I was in grade twelve, I attended St. John’s-Ravenscourt School in Winnipeg and I lived at the school as part of the boarding program. After I graduated in 2005, I attended the University of Manitoba and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Much to my surprise, I won the Gold Medal in 2008 for having the highest overall GPA of any student in the Bachelor of Arts (General) program. I started law school in the fall of 2008 at Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba. I graduated in 2011 with a Juris Doctor and I received my Call to the Bar on June 21, 2012. After dreaming of becoming a lawyer since grade 9, it finally happened.

Professional Life

I have had an interest in criminal law since I was young. I articled with Bueti Wasyliw and Associates in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bueti Wasyliw and Associates was a criminal defence firm and I spent most of my time during my articling year assisting clients with bail applications, making court appearances, and research. In December of 2012, Gerri Wiebe joined the firm as a partner and it became Bueti Wasyliw Wiebe, as it remains today. As an associate with Bueti Wasyliw Wiebe, my responsibilities included all aspects of an excellent criminal defence. In April 2014, I joined a new criminal defence firm, Tom Rees Law Corporation, and I have enjoyed the fresh perspective. I am passionate about providing clients with superior service and detailed legal information. I pride myself in staying in excellent contact with my clients. I work hard to explore every legal issue and strive for the best possible result for clients. Personal Life

I married my wonderful wife Samantha Plett in 2009 and I couldn’t be happier today. I am an Apple fan (my iPhone is usually within arm's reach) and in my spare time I enjoy visiting with family, photography, and watching television and films. In fact, I took all of the photographs on this website except for the portraits of myself. Bruce Hendricks with Impact Photographic Design (link) masterfully captured those.
